Beef Empire Days in Garden City, KS, US (United States)

Beef Empire Days, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501c(5) organization that was formed 41 years ago to promote and educate people on the merits of beef and the cattle feeding industry. There are twelve voting board members and two ex-officio board members. Four members are elected or re-elected annually. 

The 12 day Beef Empire Days celebration features industry events, including live and carcass cattle shows and competitions. People pleasing, food and sporting events including golf tournaments, community feeds and parades. 

The Beef Empire Days Carcass Index is calculated from a base of 100 points with bonus and penalty point adjustments for hot carcass weight (HCW), adjusted backfat, ribeye area (REA), internal kidney-pelvic-heart fat (KPH), and USDA Quality Grade (QG). 

The 40th Annual Beef Empire Days Live and Carcass Show is intended to emphasize the economic aspects of commercial cattle feeding and the beef industry to this area. All participating cattle must come from yards who are sponsors of the Beef Empire Days celebration. 

Hosted by these fine Agri-Businesses and their area representatives: Bayer Corporation, Fort Dodge Animal Health, Intervet, Micro Beef Technologies and Nova Microbial Technologies. Door prizes provided by Feedlot Magazine, South Dakota Beef Bucks and the KSU Ag Alumni Association.
